There are several dance studios which hold regular social dances as well as classes and private lessons. There are live bands which play for dances on a monthly basis.

Regular dances
Ballare has stopped its weekly social dance and is now having a monthly social dance on a Friday at The Ballroom, 301 Brougham Street 7.30pm. $10 EFTPOS available
Wrights Christchurch Ballroom Dancing Club have a fortnightly socal dance on a Friday at Russley School Hall 7.30 - 10pm $15 Check their website for dates www.ballroomdancing.co.nz
DanceSport hold two social dances a month, on a Saturday, the alternate weekend to Wrights Friday dance. The Ballroom, 301 Brougham Street 7.30 - 10.30pm. $15 including supper.
Mainland Big Band usually play at Cashmere Club first Saturday of the month 7.30 - 10.30pm $10

This is a social dance where sequence dances are on the outside circle and ballroom dances are done in the inner circle.
Patrick intends to host a 50:50 sequence/ballroom dance third Sunday of each month Sept-Dec.

Beginner Pre-Party Class basic ballroom and latin 6.30pm $15 includes entry to social dance
