There are several dance studios which hold regular social dances as well as classes and private lessons. There are live bands which play for dances on a monthly basis.

Ballare has stopped its weekly social dance and is now having a monthly social dance at The Ballroom, 301 Brougham Street 7.30pm. $10 EFTPOS available
Wrights Christchurch Ballroom Dancing Club have a fortnightly socal dance on a Friday at Russley School Hall 7.30 - 10pm $15 Check their website for dates www.ballroomdancing.co.nz
DanceSport hold two social dances a month, on a Saturday, the alternate weekend to Wrights Friday dance. The Ballroom, 301 Brougham Street 7.30 - 10.30pm. $15 including supper.
Mainland Big Band usually play at Cashmere Club first Saturday of the month 7.30 - 10.30pm $10

This is a social dance for ballroom and sequence dancers, where the floor can be shared, with sequence dancers dancing their routine on the outside circle, and ballroom dancers dancing in the inner circle.
