There are several dance studios which hold regular social dances as well as classes and private lessons. There are live bands which play for dances on a monthly basis.

Regular dances
Ballare has a weekly social dance weekly on Wednesdays 8 - 10 pm at The Ballroom 301 Brougham Street $15 including supper.
Wrights Christchurch Ballroom Dancing Club have a fortnightly socal dance on a Friday at Russley School Hall 7.30 - 10 pm $15 Check their website for dates www.ballroomdancing.co.nz
DanceSport hold two social dances a month, on a Saturday, the alternate weekend to Wrights Friday dance.

Mainland Big Band usually play at Cashmere Club first Saturday of the month 7.30 - 10.30 pm $10 (but not in January)
